Today is the first day of Public Recognition Week, when we extend our gratitude to the men and women who serve our nation. It’s Federal, State, and Local government employees. Public Service Recognition week is an important opportunity to recognize the depth of talent we have at the Commerce Department. From Nobel-prize winning physicist, to patent examiners, biologists, economists, and much, much more. I am fortunate to work with an incredibly talented team that works every day to support American businesses and workers. Public servants tackle different issues and hold different job titles. But, when I think of the public servants that I’ve worked with over the years, they all have three characteristics in common – passion, dedication, and a commitment to public service. If you are a current government employee, I want to thank you for your work, your commitment, and your service to our country.
