SEFSC Lafayette Laboratory
The Southeast Fisheries Science Center (SEFSC)'s laboratory at the Estuarine Habitats and Coastal Fisheries Center is located within the University of Louisiana at Lafayette Research Park. This state-of-the art facility provides scientific information on conservation of coastal habitats, management of commercial and recreational shellfish and finfish, protection of threatened and endangered marine species, including the Marine Mammal Molecular Genetics Lab, and
protection of coastal wetlands (under the Coastal Wetlands Planning Protection and Restoration Act).
