The Charleston, South Carolina office of the National Weather Service has weather forecast and severe weather warning responsibility for 8 counties in southeast South Carolina, 12 counties in northern portions of southeast Georgia and a portion of the Atlantic coastal waters from the Santee River in South Carolina to the Altamaha River in Georgia. We routinely issue public forecasts as well as specialized forecasts/products (e.g., aviation, marine, fire weather, hydrology and climate). When severe weather threatens the area we issue a variety of products, including watches, warnings and advisories, to help protect lives and property. Click here to view a video about what we do!
