Andrea Pacheco Dhamer is Deputy Director for the Office of Business Liaison at the Department of Commerce.  In this position, she manages the department’s efforts to engage the business community on behalf of the Office of the Secretary. The Office of Business Liaison office promotes progressive business policies that help America’s businesses and entrepreneurs here in the United States and it works to strengthen the international economic position of the United States and facilitates global trade by advocating for American businesses.

Prior to working for the Administration, Ms. Dhamer worked at the Institute of International Education’s headquarters in New York. In this capacity, she managed the organization’s business development efforts; preceding this, she worked on the Foreign Fulbright Pakistan program. Ms. Dhamer also worked in Hiroshima, Japan under the auspices of the Japan Exchange and Teaching Programme and has collaborated with a number of international organizations in Latin America and Southeast Asia.

Ms. Dhamer holds a Master's degree in Public and Non-Profit Management & Policy from New York University’s Robert F. Wagner School of Public Service and a Bachelor's degree in Political Science and International Affairs from Loyola University Chicago.
