Beneva Schulte is the Director of the Office of Public Affairs. With more than 20 plus years of experience in public affairs, Ms. Schulte has led multiple national, state and local campaigns. Prior to joining the department, she managed strategic communications and public policy campaigns for a variety of corporate clients as Senior Vice President at Public Affairs Engagement. She was the Chief Deputy Director for the Financial Crisis Inquiry Commission and a political editor for National Public Radio and news magazine, Tell Me More with Michel Martin. Similarly, she was Communications Director on the Dodd for President Campaign and Chief of Staff to representative Carolyn McCarthy (D-NY). She grew up in Miami, FL and holds degrees in English Literature, Public Policy, and Women’s Studies.
