
Madhura Valverde was a Director of the Office of the Executive Secretariat in the Office of the Secretary, U.S. Department of Commerce. Ms. Valverde oversaw the Office’s correspondence unit, which is responsible for coordinating the development, clearance, and submission of all written materials for the Secretary and Deputy Secretary’s review, including their daily briefing books. In this capacity, she also served as a point of contact and liaison for the White House Office of Cabinet Affairs and the National Security Council. Ms. Valverde also oversaw the Office of the Secretary’s administrative department, which is responsible for managing a $15 million budget. Prior to being promoted to Director, she served as Deputy Director of the Office of Executive Secretariat beginning in May 2012. Ms. Valverde is a graduate of Binghamton University and New York University School of Law. Before joining the Administration, she practiced law in New York. She currently lives in Washington, DC, with her family.
