Institute for Bioscience and Biotechnology Research (IBBR)
The Institute for Bioscience and Biotechnology Research (IBBR) is a joint research enterprise between the University of Maryland College Park, The University of Maryland Baltimore and the National Institute of Standards and Technology. The mission of IBBR is to leverage collective research strengths of the partnering institutions in medicine, biosciences, technology, quantitative sciences and engineering, to foster integrated, cross-disciplinary team approaches to scientific discovery and education, and to serve the expanding economic base of biosciences and technology in the state of Maryland and the Nation.
IBBR Shady Grove is adjacent to The Universities at Shady Grove in the heart of the I-270 Bioscience Corridor. IBBR Shady Grove is easily accessible from Baltimore, College Park, and Gaithersburg.
IBBR is a secure facility, so daily visitors must go the main entrance under the trellis and check in at the front desk. For visitors attending an event at IBBR please follow the signage to the appropriate facility entrance to sign in.
Parking is currently free and no permit is required in IBBR's parking lot and in parking lot 1 (see map below).
The other campus, IBBR College Park, is located in the Plant Sciences Building on the University of Maryland College Park campus in close proximity to its partner bioscience and engineering programs.
