National Centers for Coastal Ocean Science (NCCOS)
As part of NOAA's National Ocean Service, the National Centers for Coastal Ocean Science (NCCOS) conduct and support research, monitoring, and assessments, and provide technical assistance and tools in various locations. Each of the five Centers has specific capabilities and research expertise in coastal and ocean issues. Three of the Centers are dedicated research laboratories, another conducts research through analyses of field data, and one funds research with competitive grants.
