NOAAâs Office of Ocean Exploration and Research (OER) is the nationâs first program dedicated to expanding our understanding of the ocean through systematic exploration, targeted research, and the use and advancement of undersea technologies.
Our unique capabilities in terms of personnel, technology, infrastructure, exploration missions, and data delivery are allowing us to reduce unknowns in deep-ocean areas and provide the high-value environmental intelligence needed by NOAA and the nation to address both current and emerging science and management needs.
