When Sabrina Moyle and her sister started Hello!Lucky in 2003, their business plan did not involve selling their letterpress greeting cards overseas. It did, however, involve building a business that was creative, resourceful and supported their local community.
Since the 2003 launch out of a San Francisco garage, Hello!Lucky has grown both in the U.S. and internationally and Sabrina is bullish on more international growth if trade agreements like the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) pass Congress.
Today, Hello!Lucky sells to distribution partners in Japan and Australia and directly to a small number of boutiques around the world. Sabrina says that the company is seeing its biggest growth overseas, but could see even more with the passage of trade agreements.
“The more I learn about trade agreements, the more I feel that they are an essential first step to opening foreign markets up to US manufacturers,” she said.
Sabrina recently joined Secretary Pritzker in San Francisco and traveled to the White House to participate in a series of discussions on the importance of trade agreements. Her passion for helping small business owners start and build their business led her to create the Share Trade campaign—a campaign “aimed at removing barriers to selling overseas for small makers, and improving the quality of life of people worldwide through embracing global trade, local manufacturing, and conscious consumption.”
For Sabrina, the passion and authenticity of small business owners inspires human development around the world.
Watch the video to see why Sabrina says trade agreements like TPP make it easier for more people all over the world to channel their creativity and realize their passion and vision by becoming entrepreneurs.
