Today, U.S. Secretary of Commerce Penny Pritzker announced she will attend the seventh annual 2016 Global Entrepreneurship Summit (GES), hosted by President Barack Obama in Silicon Valley. As the Administration's point person on entrepreneurship, Secretary Pritzker will be accompanied by 10 of the Presidential Ambassadors for Global Entrepreneurship (PAGE).
GES is a reflection of the U.S. government’s commitment to utilize entrepreneurship as a foundational tool to build more communities around the world that are economically prosperous, secure, and globally connected. The event will attract approximately 1,000 attendees, including entrepreneurs, investors, educators, government officials, and business leaders who represent the full measure of entrepreneurial talent from diverse backgrounds across our nation and the world.
This is Secretary Pritzker's fourth GES event. At GES 2013 in Malaysia, President Obama asked Secretary Pritzker to chair the Presidential Ambassadors for Global Entrepreneurship (PAGE) initiative. PAGE brings together 17 of Americas most respected business creators who have committed to sharing their time, energy, ideas, and experience to help develop the next generation of entrepreneurs around the world.
PAGE members will join Secretary Pritzker in Silicon Valley to serve as entrepreneurship ambassadors and mentors to this year's attendees through mentoring sessions, judging of pitch competitions, matching of entrepreneurs with investors, providing technical assistance through symposia and workshops, and exposing these visiting entrepreneurs to one of America’s most prolific centers of innovation, Silicon Valley. PAGE members in attendance include:
- Steve Case, Revolution
